  • Will anyone stop the Iranian nuke?

Simple enough, do you think Israel, the Yanks, the UN, or anyone else will be able to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons, by means fair or foul?

I know the usual gang will laugh, but do you have an option for dramatic political change inside Iran, leading either to them giving up nukes, OR to them having nukes being in a dramatically different political context?

            Man, what?

I'm not sure what you're getting at, but FYI my best guess is that Iran will continue to pursue nuclear weapons and that the rest of the world will decide they can live with a nuclear Iran in a political context much like today's.

No one stopped NK, Israel, India, Pakistan, Soth Africa, China, France, the UK, or the USSR (not putting the US because they were first and working on it secretly).

Any state that feels they national interests demand they have a nuke will get them unless it is physically destroyed or conquered. The question is how to change that calculation of national interests. Threats of destruction or impoverishment have usually not worked, since they only intensify the logic for getting nukes.

As long as they have Russia backing the development of thier nuclear weapons program, there will be no meaningful sanctions.

I voted no, although I could see Israel carry out a dramatic, but ultimately futile*, military operation against its arch-nemesis.

(*By this, I mean they'll be able to take out surface and some sublevel installations, but they won't be able to get it all ... I'm sure Iran's nuclear program is like a metastasizing cancer tumor ... it has filaments and cells everywhere.)

it would be great if someone (and by someone i mean israel) could stop iran going nuclear, but i can't see it happening myself.
