What I like most about South Park (and I haven't seen it extensively, unfortunately) is not the grotesque side but the satirical side. The episode I mentioned was a brilliant take on 'Therapy Culture' and not-taking-responsibility. To me a straight guy standing up to madness makes me laugh.

For similar reasons, I *loved* the episode I call the Lord of the Flies episode. It's real name is different. It's the one where the kids get all their parents sent away on false charges of molestation. Cartman, of course, takes over.

I saw the M*hommed episode the other night for the first time. Ironic story line or what. I wonder if the writers expected their own employers to censor it?

Mohammed had already been in the "Super Best Friends" episode, along with the Buddha, Krishna, Jesus, Lao Tsu, Sea Man, Moses, and the Mormon guy.

In early 2006, controversy erupted over this episode following the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy, as Islamic aniconism tradition states that no visual depictions of Muhammad should be made. When this episode first aired, though, there was no controversy. There was some question as to whether this episode will re-air on Comedy Central following Muhammad's non-appearance in "Cartoon Wars Part I" and "Cartoon Wars Part II" or if it will air with Muhammad blacked out; however, it has since aired numerous times unaltered in several markets.
