          And each time it happens (so much) one would assume there is a unique story behind it complete with unique details. Not so much in this retelling.

              It really does sound like an after-school special.

              I have no doubt that similar things happen, Asher. Hey, I'm generally on "your side" in this sort of thing. But this is fishy.

                              I have a good friend who is very right-wing Christian. She thinks exactly like Betty does. If her son grows up to be gay, I can see her taking the same path.


                              By the way, when did being gay get to be "hip?" It's the only minority group which it's legal to discriminate against? That isn't cool or hip. (BTW: The word should be "hep.")

                                It's not that surprising. Everyone is susceptible to the tendency to suspend their disbelief on issues of great concern to them.
