Likely neither, at least for a few years.

I was thinking it might be time to get WinXP, since my Win2K is getting a bit long in the tooth.

A new rig is planned either this or next year, and it likely will have Vista as OS. I won't switch for the existing hardware, however. I probably won't ever buy Office. I'd use it way too seldom to pay for a commercial product. For my purpose Open Office does just fine.

I want to use the new Excel in my work so my company will buy the new Office.

No. We've had the option to have it on our PCs at work for a few weeks, but I can't be bothered...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Why bother? XP (windows 5.1) is practically just a colourful shell over win2k (5.0) anyway

(Particularly compared to Vista of course )

Buy? Why the hell would I buy it?

You know, we HAVE the internet....

Personally I'll buy Vista in a few weeks/months (probably at the same time as upgrading to a dx10 video card), don't see any real need to buy Office 07 just yet. Don't really want to start using vista until the updates start rolling in

What kind of a crap poll is this? Where is the 'neither' option?

One day I will buy a new PC, which will probably come with the new OS. Until then, I've no plans to downgrade the performance of my existing, modest hardware by saddling it with unwanted features.

I don't need to "buy" Office 2007, since I get it as part of a volume license thing. And I already have it.

Vista I can get too, but I honestly don't know if I want it yet.

I won't buy it. It doesn't give me any features I find important enough to shell out that kind of money. I'll make someone else buy it for me though.

Honestly, I had no idea that anyone even considered buying a new OS.
