Man, that movie sucked. If you want to do weed jokes, at least do them good, like in Half Baked. That movie was so bad that I'm glad I just downloaded it.

Seriously, NO leading actor what so ever, no genuinely good dialogue, nothing. Just blaabalaablaa FART blbeabaelbeal LOOK AT MY BUTT! 4 blbaablbaab weeeeeed!11

Back to the Future. The Thing.

Blade Runner did. But I'm not sure Minority Report had less depth.

I mean it totally blows away Half Baked as the classic stoner movie.

Harold and Kumar pass the test. Not a great flic but very funny if you prepare properly.

Come on, what was the problem with Back to the Future ? Not the best sci-fi movie ever, but pretty good.

Minority Report is one of the best news ones, though. I didn't enjoy the slight romantic angle in it, but it was a solid movie, I particularly liked the direction in some chase / following scenes (like in that supermarket or whatever it was).

Raider's of the Lost Art hardly beats decent modern action films on any level. What about Raiders makes it better than, say, Casino Royale?

I think film-making has been on a steady upward trend for most of my life. I look back at most of the films I watched as a child (typical blockbusters) and with a few exceptions, wonder how such bad dialogue got into credible films. Combined with international films and more issue-based films becoming more mainstream (Crouching Tiger, City of God in the former, Lord of War, Blood Diamond, in the latter), I think the mainstream has more variety and better films than it did 10 or 15 years ago.

Back to the Future has the depth of The Matrix. Yes, it does time travel pretty decently (though the 'fading out' of relatives was kind of lame), but depth? It was enjoyable, yes, but so was the first Matrix.

And Back to the Future had a romantic angle in it as well . In fact it was central to the plot of BttF2.

Really? It's been released here for years. Great film Battle Royale II is pretty good as well, a slightly different angle, but still definitely interesting.

I've actually watched one Anime movie, Vampire Hunter D.

Saw no reason to watch another.

Did no one see Syriana? The Manchurian Candidate?

16 Blocks, for an action movie wasn't half bad either.

                              ACK!

Probably it isn't the best sci-fi movie, but i like it more than any other

You should have watched D:Bloodlust (2001) instead. D (1985) is too old and IMHO it sucks. Well, Bloodlust isn't that good either.
