The plane wouldn't take off either. EMTs would be called in just in case the seizure would last several minutes. I suspect that the person would be removed from the airplane for his/her own safety.

One way tickets are frequently as expensive as round trip, this one was the return. Furthermore, the failure to provide services was the fault of the buyer, due to the kid's failure to comply with federal transportation safety regulations. Furthermore, the family refused to accept the offer of being placed on another flight. Most airline tickets are non-refundable.

There are tons of reasons not to give a refund. The airline offered them additional flight, I'm not saying they shouldn't do that. The airline should have no financial obligations to refund the tickets.

The airline probably lost more money than the cost of the tickets from the delay.

I thought this thread was about throwing them out during the flight. That I would support wholeheartedly

Agreed. Give the brat something to actually cry about.

Families with uncontrollable kids are an increasingly annoying phenomenon these days.

By the way, I read the other day of a man, a lawyer IIRC , who was booted off a plane due to gross body odour. Other passengers complained before take-off of the unbearable stench that was emanating from the man's armpits. An attendant asked him to wash and change his shirt, which he refused, and so he was denied transportation and left stranded at the airport.

I wonder if he was able to hail a cab or even order a cup of coffee while figuring out what to do next..

Youth don't have any more right to be obnoxious than adults.

Airlines just need to do a better job of kicking off all the obnoxious adults.

Airtran has little in common with the company it used to be, Valujet, particularly:
                                1. Doesn't use Sabretech anymore
                                2. SWA owns a good part of the company now
                                3. They have smoke detectors now
