The last foray Chinese auto manufacturers made into foreign markets was a total flop IIRC.

My point is that we've never done anything except roll over and spread 'em when it comes to China, even when we had more leverage and the stakes were higher (Tiannamen Square, for example). The acquisition of a failing US car company is not going to be where we draw the line in the sand.

Wasn't there a bit of a fuss over their acquisitions of an oil company?

Besides, the Dubai thing was about a government-sanctioned port deal; this woudl be a private transaction (which is not to say that the govt wouldn't try to stick it's nose in, but it wouldn't have much luck).
It's called the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States and they have blocked Chinese investment in the past.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
