Good point. Does the Soviet Union begin with a 'u'?

it's a bit harder in Soviet case, because USSR didn't have a geographical term of any kind in its name

Ukraine comes first to mind here, probably because it's close and I hear the most about it, then Uganda.

Utah, when it was to be it's own country, was called Deseret... :P

To be fair the first country that came to mind for me was Uganda (though it took less than 5 seconds to come up with that one hehe).

The video is fairly hillarious, though. I sincerely hope that there was some kind of a selection bias in editing the video - if the majority can't find Korea on the map and supports military action against Kyrgyzstan, it's truly a sorry situation...

Julian Morrow: Do you know what state KFC comes from?

                    Dumb guy: The chicken?

                    Julian Morrow: Yes

                    Dumb guy: I don't know

Julian Morrow: Do you know what it stands for?

Dumb guy: Yeah Kentucky Fried Chicken.

                    Priceless.

                      Unbelievable, truly unbelievable...

Still, ask a lot of people a lot of questions and you'll eventually get enough stupid answers...

Here's a related one... Is there a difference between 0.002 US cents and 0.002 US dollars? Or perhaps it's only a difference of opinion?

"Uganda" came first to my mind too, followed by "Uruguay".

I wonder why, considering that Uganda doesn't even start with "U" in my mother language (bot with "O"), and isn't pronounced at all like the French "u"

I couldn't even think of Ukraine before clicking this thread, despite all those posts I wrote lambasting Yushchenko

The first letter in "The United States of America" is a "T". Same for "The United Kingdom".

                                My first thought was Uzbekistan...
