As for snow:
It´s the same for me.
As a kid I loved it, as it meant I could play in the snow.
Now however it just restricts my movement and I could live without it (although the sight of a landscape covered with frech fallen snow ist still beautiful)

As for knowledge = freedom:
I disagree as this doesn´t seem to be always the case.

For example knowledge about a cancerogene substance in food can severely limit your freedom of choice.
Without the knowledge of this cancerogene substance you would have bought and eaten the food (for example chips) but as you know about it you avoid this kind of food.
Sad thing about this is, that another person who has no knowledge about this cancerogenous substance still buys the food and lives longer than yourself, as you are killed in a car accident some years later.

Therefore I think knowledge has the potential for both, giving you more freedom of choice as well as restricting your choices.


As for who I am:
I am, that is important. There is nothing more important besides this.
Titles, archievements and other things only have the important you give them for yourself, thjey can be important or unimportant, as you wish (or as other wish, as job chances might depend on them) but they never determine who you are.
Who you are, your inner self, is invisible to the outside. Habits, sexual preferences and all other things might change, but your inner self remains.

Yeah, and wisdom is highly subjective matter, even more so than pure knowledge. Of course we assume that you can actually use that knowledge, put it to some use, if nothing else then to know yourself.
