  • Do you ever wonder.. ?

Do you ever wonder how you know what you know? Do you ever wonder what of it is genuine? After all, we know what we know because other people tell us these things. Granted, in academics, it's scientific, thus accepted as facts, usually describing the world around us somehow. And we know how we got to know that, because we see the studies behind them.

But are you ever intriqued, that you could actually expand the knowledge of everyone? If you can contribute to the body of knowledge, you'd be giving more information, say it's useful. Does that intrique you? It excites me in many ways excluding sexual arousal.

Do you wonder why you liked some things as a kid but now you don't? We got a bit of a blizzard here, I was walking home and it felt crap. Then I thought, why? As a kid, I used to love this. Why does it feel like a crappy thing now? Is it crappy? Is it because now I know why it snows, and more about the weather and facts behind it? So I can't be curious about it anymore? I mean, the kids who work at the insurance companies and banks are the ones who never asked why it snows, they just thought it snows. Why is it inevitable, that the natural curiosity of all things die a bit with more experience?

I'm very excited these days, because I found out that there is a possibility, that I might be able to use ALL the stuff I've studied (and thus like in the first place) in one single job. How is it possible to combine all that stuff? If I get to do my own research, I can. That excites me. A contribution to the collective body of knowledge. Not only giving results from a study, but the whole process is unique, framework chosen unique, involves cultural aspects (Asia), business, work place things (how do we work, why do we work the way we do etc.), IT security and geoinformatics. How is it possible? Well it is, and should I be granted the opportunity, it will be a contribution, and _definitely_ of interest to many parties, so there's an opportunity to become a real author. And make money. And do the things I like, not just one, but all of them.

So the question is, do you ever wonder these things? I mean sure, briefly, but do you take the time to truly analyze it, and go further? Do you ever wonder who you are, beyond name, age, job title and colour of your hair? Who are you? Don't give me identification data, just tell me who you are. Do you know? If you love to eat the ass of a man, please reply wtf pekka. Why is it easier for me to describe you, than for you to do it yourself? Isn't it a sign that you should study yourself more? Do you ever think, that the body of knowledge and how we know things grows as the process of life continues, but without us? People die, people are born, but the knowledge lives. Do you wonder if there comes a point, where the body of knowledge has become big enough that life just isn't a pretty straigh forward process, a cycle? I don't mean that we can become immortal, I mean in a way where that collection of information becomes an entity itself?

Do you ever equate knowledge with freedom? Freedom from the society, freedom from others and their opinion of you, the freedom of actually realizing more options that given? Or is it just a state of mind? The more I know, the more I feel free. The more I see people who don't know, the more restricted they are in my eyes. Not in a condescending way, but in a way of more limitations applies.

What is colour blue? Can you describe it to the blind? What is music, can you write it down so the deaf will have an idea? If there was no God, no after life, no judgement, and everyone knew this, woudl the amount of murders go up? Would people start stealing more? Would there still be the same amount of wars, less or more?

I think everyone has had similar thoughts

with the major exception of that whole "sexual arousal" thing. That is gross and way too much information.

As for snow - when you were a kid, you looked forward to snow because it meant more opportunities for play. As an adult, it most likely means more requirements for work. However, how would you feel about snow if you were getting ready to go skiing?

Hmm. I think I'll pass on contributing to your body "of knowledge".

"how would you feel about snow if you were getting ready to go skiing?"

Terrible. I don't like to ride in a blizzard. I like it when it just did the night before, and now the sun shines... yes.. the sun.

Without delving into my philosophy - something I don't do here on Apolyton - I can't really answer the questions you've set forth. I can, however, contribute this:

I firmly believe that sixty years from now, I will be either a locked up raving loon in an insane asylum (much the way I see you now, Pekka, except that you seem to have internet access) or a revered and worshipped prophet (I'll tell them not to, but they'll love me too much to do otherwise) who is leading a spiritual revolution to change the world.

So yes, I give myself about fifty-fifty odds of adding to the collective body of knowledge.

ok, but you have to go beyond conventional and what we already know. So you really have to reach it Lorizael... and in your quest to weirdness and winning to yourself, remember, that people who put you into superfreak status, don't feel bad about it. Why should you? These bozos who are judging you are most likely the ones who watch the morning shows and are looking for new stuff to add into their daily conversations, depending what the topic is, that's what they'll talk about during the day.

How predictable? A show is setting the reality for them for the day, days in, days out. How ****ing boring is that? Just because these bozos that would judge you, you know, it always tells about them as well. They are always reflecting their feelings for you from their own subjectivity. Why would you ever let them get you down, the morning show bozos, I mean good, you think I'm not you? That's great! I'm not actively seeking to be different, but I can't say I feel bad about not being you, you know?

And about going raving loon mode, I mean what's wrong in that? THere's a stigma, sure, but there's a stigma in masturbation also. So what? If it feels like the thing to do, why stop yourself from going raving loon mode? If you enjoy throwing your own poo to the wall, just consider the health issues, and once you've worked around that, why not? Do it, throw poo on the wall, it's your life man. The morning show guy is telling you, that it's a bad idea? Look at him, he lived his life safe, he did what other morning bozos told him to do, which is to do the 9 to 5, have 2.3 kids, don't do your dreams, have 1000 regrets when you die, and don't ever discover nothing about anything.

There's always a million people telling you that this thing here won't fly. So what? If I had eggs and what ever cereals every morning, I'd have to kill myself.. What's the point? The point of life is to do the expected, so you will fit the norm? What is so desireable in the norm? That's what I always wondered, what is so important being just like everyone else?

Raving loon mode versus worshipped prophet, man, that's 50/50. Good enough for me, good enough for you, so there's no problem.

Pretty lucid there Pekka.. (I was wondering when you'd get around to pre-empting the wtf's, good job on that too! )

                      snow is cold. 'nuff said.

Actually as an adult, I still love it when it snows. But that is because it is so rare where I live.
