Why is it so easy to beleive that reporters will (and have) perjured themselves, for reasons of career/avoid embarrassment, but it is inconceivable that Libby would? How is it possible that they could make lies which are likely to come to light, but it is inconceivable that Libby would?

cathyf: I completely agree with you on that. An example of the "lying up" is the WMD issue. However, DON'T YOU SEE that what is fair for the goose is fair for the gander? That Sara/Patton should not "lie up" wrt Fitz if it's wrong to do so with Cheney, Libby, etc.?
Can't we be intellectually honest and clear on wording? Not to do so, is to engage in childish refusal to concede/clarify minor points. Or just plain sophistry.Comment

Which, if such things exist, apply very well to his heroes (Bush, Cheney, et al) with regard to WMDs in Iraq. Heh. Good stuff, that.

sometimes you like to disagree in a different way. Theres at least one blog I sometimes go to, where I am sort of the house liberal - cause I like Hillary, cause I like Kadima, cause I like McCain and I like and quote Bushs postive rhetoric towards the muslim world. Some of them are total loons. Some arent. Some challenge my thinking, and make me refine it. Some are great at ferreting out obscure and sometimes interesting stories. And some are funny as hell, but the humor doesnt work when youre TOO far from their POV.
