What's the big deal? We only sent him back to a country he was a citizen of.

I think Gonzales is actually an evil mother****er. If there is heaven and hell, I just don't see how he could go anywhere else but hell. Seriously. The man is evil.

even IF renditions to countries that often engage in practices that we dont is sometime justified (and Im not saying it is)

              1. If youre gonna do that youd damned well better be sure that the guy you send is guilty of SOMETHING
              2. You shouldnt send him to a country like Syria, whose credibility you cannot defend without contradicting other things youve said. I mean Syria isnt Egypt or KSA or Pakistan.
              3. Don't do it with someone who's a citizen of an ally. Cause we do need allies, even if they are silly sometimes.

The Canadians said he was guilty of something. If we can't trust the Canadians, who can we trust?

And that's a huge IF, as you noted. Agreed on all points (with LotM, crosspost with DD).

DD - um, why not let the Canadians have him, then?

grog want tank...Grog Want Tank... GROG WANT TANK!

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

Like I said earlier, we only sent him back to one of the countries he was a citizen of. No big deal.

And we have since corrected the record yet your government claims they have more on Arar than just our bad intel.
