So, why would I want to vote for a Repulican?

I will not vote for Hillary.

If George W. Bush were running against Hillary in 2008, I'd vote for Dubya.
To us, it is the BEAST.

I think it's conclusive...Colin Powell will be our next President.

I think Colin Powell would be a great President.

Ted Nugent is a complete douche... so much so that I wouldn't even pick him as a gag option on a poll. Debris from the satellite the Chinese just shot down needs to fall on his head and crush him.

Who would vote Republican at all? It's a dead party.

Well, according to the poll, Hillary beats everyone but Powell, who won't be running.

I say this every time it comes up, so I'll say it again: forget how you feel about her and do the math.

I have no doubt rapid anti-Hillary sentiment will surface, but it will surface largely in places she didn't have a hope in hell of winning. What does it matter if she loses Texas 80-20, or even 90-10, instead of 60-40? I'm sure she'd lose the whole South by a huge margin. But so what?

Instead, look at the 2004 electoral map and tell me which states Kerry won that Hillary would lose. Or, let me save you the trouble: there aren't any. The minute she's nominated, she's within 19 electoral votes of becoming president. With Ohio's (20 votes) GOP party in tatters, the Rocky Mountain states trending Democrat, Bill Clinton campaigning for her, and Bush still stubbornly pursuing the Iraq war, I wouldn't bet against her.

Would you like to make a wager?

Let me tell you ONE reason. Kerry, despite the loss of support from the VFW and American Legion, still got some veteran's votes. Veterans are a substantial lobby.
Hillary won't get what Kerry got.

Nope; my mama didn't raise any kids foolish enough to wager on the outcome of an election that is still 20 months in the future, and in which one of the candidates is unnamed.

Here's what I'll say, but not bet on: Hillary runs against anybody except McCain, and she wins with 284 electoral votes; she takes every state Kerry took, plus Ohio, Iowa, and New Mexico.

Show me a state where vet votes tipped the state for Kerry. You can't. Meanwhile, though, note that Kerry didn't have what Hillary will: Bill - the most popular president since WWII.

No candidates are named. You're risking nothing that I'm not risking. Come on, Rufus. Let's gamble.

This will be an interesting one.

If Bill Clinton died tomorrow, how would it affect Hilary's chances?

Negatively overall, I would think. She'd get some grieving-widow sympathy, but Bill's greatest value would be on the stump, and she'd lose that.
