  • Into the madness - make it a show!

I've been thinking about this concept for a long time, and it still seems like a great idea.

It's a TV show, or even just a webcast, where a person is shut in a room (fairly small) with limited amount of entertainment. Most likely just some magazines or what ever. Maybe a special room, like the bathroom.

Bathroom is even better, because you have your toilet and shower there.

Now, the idea is to shut the person into that room for a LONG time. No getting out. Say, 3 months.. 6 months? Something like that. A long long time. There's no 'one hour in day light'. You'll be in that room, alone.

Then, the idea is to see how the person changes. Maybe they go utterly insane. I don't know!!

So that's the basic concept, you could have something to add on that, but not like the show Big Brother, this isn't hte same thing nor should it be. No way, no big brothers, nothing like that.

They could like have some food delivered through a hole or something, so they can't see anyone. Maybe, maybe they could bring in an mp3player or something, and the prize for something is that they get to recharge the batteries. Depending what the test is, but the test is difficult, every now and then, plus, all they get is maybe recharge of their battery and that's it. Fail? NOthing. And the test should be extremely difficult. Requiring some real knowledge, so they have to study like mad to it.

What do you think? It's called Into the Madness, and the person is likely to go insane. They can't get out, unless their life is in immidiate danger.

I think this show would rule, and I'd be the first volunteer to be shut in some place.

There are people who volunteer to do that. I now would not, but there have been times..

And suddenly it all becomes clear!

Pekka already has done this and, after years of concealed trauma and insanity, is just now starting to remember it. Ladies and gentlemen, we're about to witness the breakdown of a human being.

JM, it's different to be locked inside your house, than locked inside bathroom and never coming out. For example, you have to have food, so you have to get out of that room. This would be even more restricting tha tis.

So, I think this would be intersting, because the person would undergo huge mental struggles, and will lose it from time to time very badly.

It's like cast away, the beard just gets longer, and the dude just goes crazier. Maybe he starts to talk to himself via the mirror, thinking it's someone else, just to have company.

Like I said, I'll volunteer, but there needs to be guaranteed money, as in, a million euros for the effort. For a million, I'll go in and go crazy in the small room for 6 months, unless I'll fail and try to kill myself (in which case I'd be kicked out).

Hmm, with no one else to interact with, if he doesn't start talking to himself, it's going to be quite boring.

Tune in next week, for another hour of dead silense.

Editing a week of verging on insanity into an hour show would be tough. Either you'd have not enough material to fill an hour, or you just use anything that make him look like he's going wacko. A week worth of that in an hour would really make him look psycho. It would be hard for a person to indentify with that.

          I don't think so.

Well naturally you can't just.. show it live. It would be boring. THat's why I was thinking webcast.

Or, you could do like.. 20 minute cut from a week. Every week, 20 minutes worth of material. You could have some experts commenting like 'first signs of losing it'.. what ever.

you'd obviously have to have them sign a waiver. Maybe the show can pay for their pyschiatrist afterwords and institution costs.

I guess I shouldn't complain about American reality shows. We could have this.

I don't think we have any (apart from "Indian Idol"). I could be wrong, though.
