He did a lot more evil than that, btw. Or at least was party to.

How? I questioned the morality of a character.

I agree with you though Jon.

He has done some pretty awful things, but he seems to be working towards making amends.

Such as? I'm not sure you can say he is a party to most of his fathers crimes. He had no hand in killing Robert Barathon(sp), that was all Ceresi.

              Spoiler:
Someone reading the first book is going to be spoiled that Jaime becomes somewhat sympathetic!

Just a guy, for the most part. I blame his sister for corrupting him and his father for being, well, his father. Being removed from those two will help a bit.

Ves makes the worst threads... we should have a poll on this, but it'd be 5,000,000 to 1 that he does.

The old king sucked and Jamie can do his sister all he wants, but Bran was the first character (and one of the few, actually*) with whom I really connected - so anything Jamie does is tainted by this one act. I view all his actions with suspicion.

*characters I give a damn about at this point:
                          Bran
                          Dany
                          Tyrion
Arya (although I haven't been enjoying her story as much since see went to Braavos, but I understand that it's "necessary" for the plot, so I put up with it).

Oh - and the Hound if he's still alive.

Everyone who said "who" ought to get A Game of Thrones from the library and read it. Now.
