Yes, but he omitted the part in the original where Mowgli is driven back to the wild by the crazed superstitious villagers. Or else skipped over it and a great deal else, and stuck the end of the Second Jungle Book onto the middle of the first. Depending how you look at it.

WRT Disney, innocent until proven guilty. Plenty of people work creatively with the idea of talking animals who aren't furries, despite the desperate efforts of the furry community to claim otherwise.
