    Movies you recommend

    So Oscar season is upon us, and there are lots of movies out there.

    So what movies do you recommend to your fellow posters?

    Personally, I highly recommend:

    Children of Men
    Pan's Labyrinth
    Letters from Iwo Jima

    All three are very sad, very violent, and excellent movies.

    Two of those haven't opened here yet; I'll see Pan's Labyrinth this week.

    As Oscar fodder goes, I highly recommend The Queen.

    As non-Oscar fodder goes (though it should get it for art direction), I highly recommend Curse of the Golden Flower.

        I just watched V for Vendetta for the first time. I really liked it




        Edit: I guess you want recent movies, but oh well. It's still a damn good movie.
