  • What does $1million buy in your neighborhood

    In Northern California, not much.
4BR/3BA House, 1700 Square Ft. (about 170 sq. m.) in Palo Alto

In Southern California, a bit more
3BR/3BA House, 2100 Square Ft. (about 210 sq. m.) in Hermosa Beach

Here in rural Utah at my parent's place it would buy the neighborhood. Most of the houses are ~$80k for a ~2000sq ft on around an acre. The land is dirt cheap, and the main features are clean air, the view, and great sledding hills.

          A 4-bedroom semi-detached maybe and a little over £20,000 in stamp duty.

I'm afraid you wouldn't have much luck with girls, although the selection and demand of prostitutes is considerable .

But hey, you can't expect to be buying some of the best-looking girls in the world. If there's something the country's good for...

Million dollar homes on the market - Feb. 23, 2006
By some accounts, the million-dollar-plus home is now the strongest ... In much more reasonable Dallas, on the other hand, it could buy a 5000 square foot ...

At the current $ rate and real estate prices, 2 houses on my side of the street (lakeside with private marina) or 3-4 houses on the other side of the street. These houses are 150-400 m2.

A 3 bedroom, relativelty small apartment Not sure about sq. ft. or anything, but you'd be talking small living rooms, 3 reasonable bedrooms, a kitchen, a hall, and probably not much else. A mile or so away, you'd hardly get a 2 bedroom apartment for that. I've even seen an - admittedly rather nice, but not penthouse - 1 bedroom apartment go for over $1m. It's just silly.

In my parents' neighbourhood, about three semidetached houses à 160m^2.

As for my neighbourhood, you could probaby buy it all and still have change for the coffee machine ...

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.
