  • Humidifiers

The relative humidity at homi is just 28% and I want to find an efficient way to increase humidity and make my enviroment more comfortable.

I am using an air conditioner for heating and now I want to get a humidifier of some sort so I need suggestions/advice.

I forgot to mention that I am looking for a silent and energy efficient solution.

I knew we'd done this thread once before, but I guess it was twice:

There is no humidity in Bulgaria
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I have a humidifier I'm pretty pleased with, but it's not silent. It does make *some* noise.

Of course, I can't remember the make/model right now.

Arrian do you heat your home with A/C or something else. Also is there a noticable difference (in general comfort in the room) when it is running and when it isn't?

I read the previous thread but I could not find any info regarding humidigfiers.

Are you misspeaking? I'm unfamiliar with heating with air conditioning.

My home has "forced air" heat. The heating system has a humidifier in it, but it doesn't work very well. So we bought a seperate humidifier.

It works well, particularly if we just have it in our bedroom. If I wheel it out into the main living room (where it will attempt to humidify the whole house), it struggles a bit, but eventually gets the humidity up.

Our humidifier is a Homles, by the way.

I don't know exactly what it cost because it was a Christmas gift last year.

Your nose/throat don't get all dried out. For me at least, that's a problem in the winter. Not really in the summer.

I crank the humidity in our bedroom up to around 50% overnight (the humidifier is shut off during the day). It's a lot more comfortable for me.

Lots of plants/flowers are both and quite effective humidifiers - only problem is that you has to remember watering them

                              Thanks for the info guys!

I have one plant in the room but it does not seem to create enough humidity.
I will probably buy a humidifier but I would like to use distilled water because there is too much minerals in our tap water. I need to find a cheap source of distilled water first.
