  • Big problem with computer

When I turned my computer on this morning, I was given a couple of options: turning it on in
    safe mode
    safe mode with networking
    safe mode with something
    the last working

    normal windows

No matter what I chose, after windows logo appears, and windows starts loading, I get this:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

    UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

    Technical information:

    (three strange signs) STOP: 0x000000ED (0x80E2C128, 0xC0000032, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
this C is strange. The three strange signs look like something between a star and a symbolic person.
It is all on a blue screen.

I don't know what is causing that.
Perhaps it's because I turned off computer without saving my settings.
Or perhaps because I copied much music from cds and, having less than 0,5GB of free space, windows have problems loading (virtual memory too low?)

I don't know. It was never a problem before.
Haven't installed anything new lately except for a program from the net for copying music from cds
I will go to some computer service tomorrow, but perhaps there's some easy sollution I am not aware of.

Boot your computer with the Windows XP CD, enter rescue mode.

    Type "fixboot"

Thank You, but my parents insisted I shouldn't touch anything. I went to some guy and it was all right, but only for two turn ons. For the third one, the same happened.
The shops are closed now, but I will go there as soon as possible. I think they should fix it not without us paying additional money. Am I wrong?

            But they haven't fixed it!

It\s like I had my shoes repaired, and they would fall apart the same day they were delivered.

Great way to get nowhere in life, never, ever, EVER. You need to rebel a bit man.. just say Hey Mrs. H, as in Heroin, as in horse, the nurse, the skang, the foo foo, look at you, mom, telling me not to touch anything. My soul is burning to know, don't stop me or I'll amp you up, put you on rippers, the thrusters, the snap, the sweets, and jumpstart you to the new age of drugs, MDMA, Baby T, it's over, I'm done, I'll go crack someones head open.

Yeah. Besides, I think Heresson's parents had something else in mind when they told him "not to touch anything".

Well, Heresson is kind of a brute, he really might break the computer via magic touch, I do believe this to be true. Just to be safe though, I wouldn't let him touch computers at all, even the working ones.. see where it got him now? Everything broken.

I do have a magic touch. The door to our house is locked, You need a key to open them. Yet I never have difficulty opening them without the key. I just come to them and open them as if there was no lock.

I can't boot from cd. I haven't got the cd I installed the windows from, because it was installed in Syria when my last system broke. My mom has a XP cd for her computer and she says it can be installed on two other computers, but it doesn't seem to work this way. At least I do not get this boot from cd message.
I think I'll have to go to these guys again, and while it is still working, use ghost.

Your mom's CD will work. You need to go into your BIOS and change the boot order temporarily so that the computer tries to boot from the CD before trying to boot from the hard drive.

After you switched on your compi, BEFORE windows is up, you see the black screen with the computer checking RAM and displaying the type of gfx card. Next it checks all the drives, then you see at the bottom:

                              Press "Del" to enter Setup.

So if you hit the "del" key it brings you to your machine's BIOS. If you don't it boots Windows normally.

                              Blah
