IOW, yes she dorked up the story and had to sacrifice an entire book to stage setting. What an idiot. a butt idiot. That said, what she does well is the small touches. the shool, the jumpoing frocgs Im dringking.

Ten to one Ravenclaw's artifact is a 'spear' (wand) of some sort. And it's probably in the possession of Ollivander.
Hmmm... Remember, it's briefly noted in Half-Blood Prince that Ollivander "disappeared" at some point between Voldemort's return and the events of that book. Also, as pointed out the character's Wikipedia entry, "Ollivander" is an anagram of "an evil lord". Hmmm, indeed...

But before we start seeking boogymen everywhere, remember Lord Voldimort was incorporal at the time when Harry first met Ollivander. So Oli can't be He Who Should Not Be Named.

True enough, but Ollivander being a Death Eater certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility, albeit unlikely.

Ollivander doesn't seem to fit in the tally. And they probably wouldn't let a former Death Eater sell wands to children off to Hogwarts.

That's interesting. So far, Ollivander has appeared at the start of the first book and the middle of the middle book. Not near the middle either, but chapter 18 in a 37 chapter book.
My bet is that he'll appear at the end of the last book, probably appearing out of nowhere to give the Ravenclaw artifact to Harry.

Why not? Several other former Death Eaters are well-respected members of wizarding society...
I wouldn't go so far as to call them "well-respected". It apparently seems that Lucious Malfoy is tolerated rather than respected. And Snape only gets as far as he does because Dumbledore vouches for his sincerity. Karkaroff runs, basically, a dark wizard friendly school.
Then again, we are getting the story only from the Order of the Phoenix perspective, who we can assume are somewhat biased (and rightly so).
