  • RIP, Joseph Barbera

I loved the Flintstones as a kid. When I grew a little older I became fascinated with all the stone-age 'modernities': record-players with bird and turtle, the elephant on wheels as a vacuum-cleaner etc.

And then he and his mate Hanna made many more excellent cartoons.

    Rest in Peace.

A sad day in cartoon land. RIP
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

                Sad day.

He and his partner William Hanna developed a new concept… Cheap animation, with fewer drawings that usual (3-6, no more than that) per second… The full-animation actually uses 12-15. But they did that lowing a lot the budget, making all the process very cheaper, and at the same time, they kept style and quality. They made that by developing an entirely new aesthetic to maintain the result very enjoyable, even for critics. New repertory, new movements, all very simple, all very effective. And a plethora of unforgettable characters.
                A great innovator.

                              ?

                              No.

Find some of his cartoons, watch them, and

                              That's what he would want.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
