You have a secret - who do you trust?

So you have a secret. The problem is, you don't know it, but you know everyone wants it. It's potentially dangerous. There might be groups out there who want to kill you for the secret. Or just get the secret and kill you afterwards..

Who do you trust, here's the options (you have to trust one of these):

Some secret gov agency, one you've never heard of.
Dem party member, high ranking, who offers you protection
the local police
group of hippies
the christians
the military
the russians
the brits
your local union

... so .. they all want the secret badly, who do you trust? Not just with the secret, but some of these groups, you don't know who, might have you dead.

You have to make a quick decision, also provide arguments why you chose the group you trusted.

My answer is none of the above. If they want the secret, then they can't kill me. If I reveal the secret, then they are free to kill me.

those would be my choices as well, but I'd flip the coin to favour hippies.. here's my reasoning.

I think they are the group with least interest for power. I think, that in bad situation, they would be loyal to you as a stranger more than others (well christians might be loyal as well).

Also, churches have command structure, so there woudl only need to be one more rogue person and you'd be in danger, so I'd choose the hippies. ALso, the secret might be powerful, so I don't think they'd screw it up, because they wouldn't use it to get power. Most likely that is.. you never know.

I also think they'd be able to hide you well enough.

Also, they are most likely the most deattached from the institutions. So just to be sure .

But next best for me would be christians.

I wouldn't tell anyone. The only people who I completely trust are loved ones (my parents and my wife). I wouldn't tell them the secret, because I wouldn't want to expose them to the danger that comes with knowing it.
