  • Over 160 sickened after eating at Olive Garden

First Taco Bell now Olive Garden.
I did a thread a few weeks ago about food handlers commiting to a terrorist legislation in regard to lot control and being able to track where diferent lots of food ingredients came from and were sent.

Do you think these incidents are the acts of terrorism?
Do you have any concerns about the possibility of it happening?

Indianapolis health officials testing samples to determine source of illness

    Updated: 41 minutes ago

INDIANAPOLIS - The Marion County Health Department says more than 160 people have claimed they became ill after eating at an Olive Garden restaurant in Indianapolis last weekend.

A health department spokesman says they're trying to isolate the cause and have found no health code violations at the restaurant on the city's north side. Health officials are collecting leftover food and stool samples from those who were stricken in an effort to pinpoint the source of the illness.

A spokesman for Olive Garden was not immediately available for comment.

So I take it this isn't a concern?

Makes sense to me. Water supplies and foods.
I don't know if it's as startling as they seem to prefer, unless it gets wide-spread. That would be startling.

          It's. Olive. Garden.

Why are people going there? I mean, yeah, I guess it's a shame so many people got sick, but why is that blighted chain still even in existence?

Well, look at the "bright" side — if it is terrorism, it'll give Cheney, et al., the excuse they need to poison the wells and salt the fields in parts of the Middle East.

Naw, I'm just kidding. Being a bit pessimistic today, which is a shame since it's Friday.

This is probably yet another example of the media dogpile. Would this story even have gotten play had there not just recently been two food poisoning outbreaks with national consequences? This outbreak is evidently localised to a single restaurant.

Gatekeeper, all the whining about "bias" gets on my nerves, but that aspect of journalism is what really gets up my nose. Why are you guys a bunch of lemmings?

The company I just left was a software implementation company, providing MRP (Material Requirement Planning) software and instruction to small and medium sized companies.

A great deal of their customer base was food manufacturing.
All of the food manufacturing companies were requested to sign up for specifically, Lot Control methods.
All part of the bio terrorism efforts.

This may be "reported incidents", but the threat exists.
                  People are taking it seriously.

Not just green onion. Not just lettuce. Not just anything.
                  Everything, including water source.

Unless you work around foods in some capacity, you might never have noticed. I didn't notice.
