Hey, it's red_jon.

I'm currently ill with flu and waiting for my seminar at 4 and thought I'd browse for civ4 mods. Then I remembered poly existed.

Since it's been years (I think) since I've been on here I'll surmise the events of my life since in a few sentences.

- Finished my BA degree in English and History
- Finished an MA degree in Gender and Culture (English with a different name)
- Am doing a PhD in English
- I have a partner (Darren) who now lives with me
- I'm still in Wales (did I mention all my degrees are from the highly prestigious *cough* Swansea University)
- I'm still really tall
- I, erm, have a beard

Asher and starchild probably both know what's happened to me, as they're both on my livejournal-list thing. Actually that presumes they read it...

So what's new with poly? Saw a thread saying it is dying - that can't be true!

Maybe, maybe not - the fact that I have my own workstation on campus where I sit playing about online for most of the day makes it possible I'll be on more...

Yeah, lots of lovely EU money is going into building things. Some parts of Swansea are actually starting to look like a city as well...

The waterfront area is starting to look really nice. How's that SA1 development coming along these days?

Not bad, they built Salubrious place (now there's actually a SECOND whole cinema ) and they've been re-organising the city centre's roads, making them more bus-friendly, which is good.

I live pretty near the city centre (unfortunately a half hour walk from uni), so it's kinda cool to see things improve.

I popped down the road a little while back when the new museum opened, and was glad to see they'd finally overhauled the Pump House as well.

Swansea is overdue another visit I think, but most likely in the spring. I passed by the other week on the way to Llandeilo - now that's a lovely little town!
