Oh well Hell. Yes. Just reformat it. Damn, Gramps. You get around to the key facts finally.

    For YOUR pc, get CCleaner.

      Slow

I love gaming and I love websurfing.

Heckl I love trolling on occasion.

But, I had read somewhere that even though a file is removed (I understood removed to mean just that "removed") that even though you couldnt see it, it still stayed on your harddrive.

So thats why I felt even though you reformat a HD it would still leave a "fingerprint" that could be read

Maybe I have read too many Oliver Stone movie reviews..

      Ok

I do appreciate all the help

It might could be recovered if you didn't use CyberScrub and someone wanted to know badly enough.
Unless you had your CIA files on that pc, I imagine it's ok.

It doesn't, actually. But, both with formatting and deleting, no casual user, or any user who doesn't go digging into past contents of the drive, will be able to see old files.

Oh c'mon Shiva, the guy just wants to make sure theres no dodgy pictures on his PC before he passes it on. Lets keep it in the real world and not muddy the waters for Grandpa.

BTW its 'deleting and formatting' not 'formatting and deleting'.....
