  • CSI: Apolyton

After the pc has been brought back for the OT I think this should be the next step to improve Poly's popularity.

CSI: Apolyton would be a show that trails the investigations of a team of Poly forensic mods and admins as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious and unusual things happening in the entire poly community. You know, classic things like the impact of Civ3 being released without MP, or newer developments like Serb disappearing, the frog conspiracy or the neverending quest to find the origins of the Hindu civilization. The often bizarre nature of these cases may force us to rethink our morals and beliefs and even human nature in general.

The show would be done in the same hightech style that made previous CSI shows very successful. For example, when depicting DanQ replying in the community forum expect to see a matrix-style scene from unusual camera angles, sometimes in slowmotion. Or watch spectacular CGI when Ming and Rah reconstruct the way of an aggressive spambot into the Polyverse.

But CSI: Apolyton cannot be made without help from the community. So please post what episodes and stories you'd like to see, and who should be in the team etc.

I personally belief this show will be pretty successful, and so I already think about a possible spin off called CSI: OT.

I used to be a big fan of CSI, but I moved to flat without a TV and never really got back into it. It didn't help that a friend pointed out that it's basically the sixties Batman TV series without the costumes.

It struck me as more like the old Scooby Doo cartoons in live action and with fancier technical-sounding words.

I'm convinced any respectable tv station will buy and air the show.

CSI is stupid. I hate that show.

A bunch of lab technicians pretending to be cops.

What are you doing trying to solve the crime you douchebags? You aren't cops! Just play with your test tubes and beakers and STFU.

And don't even get me started on David Caruso.

It's not the liberties they take with the science that bothers me, it's the procedural aspects of the respective roles the cops and the crime unit technicians play.

I'm sorry, but law enforcement officials solve crimes. Lab technicians run tests. I hate how they blur the lines between the two jobs in this show.

Law and Order is a much better show. The forensic guys are just there for tech-support, essentially. That's how it should be.

I just find the whole show hysterical. Like the way they order expensive DNA tests for everyone who looks sort of suspicious, or the ridiculous amounts of graphical interface they apparently require for their fingerprinting programs.
