  • Don't worry, Winston, I don't understand it either and I am pretty much the target audience for Facebook. Might have something to do with me not really having any friends, but whatever.

          • Hmm... ok... I see there are two from the Madison area.

One is listed as graduating from Middleton HS in 2009. The other has no other info. Take your guess as to which one I am.

Where's the attraction in all of this, besides the rather obvious, narcissistic, satisfaction of having a personal profile for everyone to see (Wow!)? I don't get it..
i use it mainly to talk to friends i don't see too often anymore and to see what shows are going on. oh and the bumper sticker application is fun.

It is a good way of keeping in touch with friends and acquaintances. Also for finding people you have lost touch with. Instead of having to go through the bother of calling up 300 friends once a month to figure out what is going on their lives you get a nice little alert message.

                  Saves you much trouble.

Plus with apps you can play games on it, raise money for good causes, plan events, and many other useful things.

Now, these "friends" you speak of, how does one acquire them?

                      • *shudder* I hated going to the orthodontist. Just because I see you once a month (for six years) doesn't mean I want to talk to you. Torture my teeth, not me.

Do searches based on their name. If you are in a mutual network (like I'm in the Concordia University and Montreal QC networks), their search results will tend to come up earlier. Also, you can see who other people are friends of, and find friends easily that way.
