    wtf is this?!

I use windows update, and then it tells me it cannot install something ( IE 7)

and then this message. I cannot enter urls in IE. I don't use it, but my dad does and it's his computer, and I generally want this to go away.

    wtf?

    My XP is genuine, btw.

According to the threads in the Computersub of the Forum where I am mod (and the experience friends have made) there are numerous people who have problems with IE 7,
some even having their system so ****ed up after the installation of IE7 that they needed to reset up their OS (without IE 7 of course)

    I can´t really recommend installing IE7
(and haven´t done so on my system)

Is this problem common? I hadn't heard of such an issue before this thread.

Yeah IE 7 is pretty much crap. Doesnt work properly with my XP either. I hope MS wouldnt make us install unfinished garbage like IE 7 as a "windows security update".

Great . . . and here I just finished installing it on my home computer (which, of course, followed a full Windows reinstall) and installing it on my work computer. . . both as autoupdates.

it isn't because one has to have it, whatever it is, to install multilingual user interface.

damn, being oblivious to computers and OSs rules... until this sort of **** happens. Should've kept track...
