  • Intellectual exercise: Defend your opposing stance on Iraq

Just as the title implies, let's do a intellectual exercise and try to defend the opposing view on what you think should be done with Iraq. While I don't expect this to be avoid of sarcasm and assholory, let's at least try to be serious.

    I'll go first.

The grim fact is that we, the United States, have completed our primary objectives in Iraq. Saddam has been removed, and democracy has been introduced, to such a successful degree the government now ignores our own requests. The Iraqi people have clearly decided to side with their sect instead of their country, and frankly, one American soldier isn't worth 20 Iraqis. The time is to pull out immediately and let the Iraqis stand or fall on their own.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

The United States should not only stay in Iraq but also put even more pressure on its allies to send more troops and increase its own military presence. Let's use the country as the advanced front in the fight against terrorism. Let's taunt the SOBs: We're right here! Come and get some if you're man enough.
    What?
