The copies available are most likely Advanced Reader copies, and thus are the legal property of the publisher. Normally this right is not enforced, but in this case it's special I suspect
If any real copies got out, it would have been through a distribution center for one of the major book chains and/or one of the two major distributors. They canceled the book at a point in which I'd expect all of the above to have received copies... not definitely, but I'd be surprised if they didn't have them already. However, it's very hard to get a book out of those locations, so ARC's are more likely by far. Each major chain plus many larger bookstores undoubtedly received several ARCs to decide whether or not to buy the book for the store/chain ...<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
