Is it possible to record songs that are streamed over the internet, say by BBC Radio, and then cut out each individual song into its' own file? (Nothing about legality BTW)
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

          Way to be specific, Cockney.

                    That was MY ISP11111!!!!
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

You call it not stealing, yet you think that musicians should work without pay? Yeah, Slavery
But for CDs that are out of print what alternative is there?

I'm of the opinion that once you stop printing a CD, or a book, or similar you've basically lost the moral right to copyright since you no longer have any interest in selling the product, so what moral reason is there to maintain a hold on copyright when you have no intention of using it.

How about the fact that eDonkey was sued by the RIAA?

In September 2005, officials from the company Metamachine received a cease and desist letter from the RIAA as a result of the June Supreme Court ruling that makers of software that facilitates copyright infringement are liable for that infringement. Many news sites reported that on September 22, 2005, Metamachine's corporate offices have closed. This was apparently inaccurate, based on the aforementioned news sites checking for the old eDonkey headquarters in New York (the new ones being in New Jersey, as they had moved there).

However, on September 28 of that year, eDonkey officially closed its doors (BetaNews Article). MetaMachine President Sam Yagan said in a statement that the company would "convert eDonkey's user base to an online content retailer operating in a closed P2P environment," and "such a transaction to take place as soon as we can reach a settlement with the RIAA.". This will have little effect on the network as a whole, as eDonkey clients only make up a small minority of the whole network.

On September 12, 2006 it was reported that MetaMachine, Inc. has agreed to settle with the RIAA for $30 million (Monterey Herald Article), and the website has been replaced by a text advertisement reflecting the RIAA's interpretation of copyright law:

I have no moral problem downloading something that I know I would not have purchased which is most newer media of dubious quality. If its something I know I would or will purchase then I'll refrain from any kind of bootleg copy. For example I plan to buy a LotR DVD set at some point in the future even though I could easily find copies. So long as file sharing is not used as a substitute for purchase no one is lossing potential sales. If anything it stimultaes more sales as its free advertising.

Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche
