Accomplishments? Graduating college... surviving college... quiting a pack/day for 14 years smoking habit... 5 years of a loving marriage, and counting... a healthy, happy 15 month old daughter with a good start to a college fund and already two marriage proposals!(you hear that Cali? your boy has competition!)
Er...how to explain this....uh, somehow finding myself in the somewhat-locked warehouses of the court with my camera, taking pictures of computer equipment stored wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling, at a time when the court had announced it was going to close down for eight days because it couldn't afford to pay it employees. Obtaining invoices of another $1.2 million of computer equipement being shipped. Taking the photos and the invoices. to Sacramento officials who made some pointed phone calls to L.A. and kept us open.
I'm proud of graduating from a great university, I'm proud of always helping out my family especially when my mother way dying, I'm proud that I own my own home, I'm proud that I am a vet and served in two war zones, and I'm really happy to FINALLY have my own office at work.
I just read Japher's post and I'd like to point out that I quit smoking for good 6 weeks ago. I only smoked for 2.5 years and even then it was only a half pack a day at its very worst but quiting smoking was indeed good.

I saved 8 days pay for 5,000 people.
Don't tell anyone it was me.
That's cool, man. Most politicians are just making power plays which go something like this: I will have to close hospitals, courts, police departments, and fire departments. (Waits for the public to scream "NO") If you don't want that to happen then you'd better agree to tax increases so we can pay for them.
They ignore that they could delay expensive purchases, fire some staff (especially worthless political appointees), or put on a hiring freeze. I know most big cities really do have to much upper and middle management. In San Diego there has been independent audit after independent audit which has said there are way to many chiefs and not enough Indians at city hall but no politician will fire the fat asses because that would mean a fight with the union.
We need politicians with balls who will fire the over head before cutting tax payer services.
Starting with a high school level BASIC and Fortran knowledge (I graduated in '86, btw), I wrote a huge automation program integrating stepping motors, piezo-electric valves, vacuum pump, RF generators attached to sputtering guns, etc.
I had to write this monstrosity to automate a procedure where I made mirrors (for example, 40 angstroms Nickel, then 40 angstroms Titanium, repeated for hundreds of layers) used to calibrate a neutron spectrometer. When my boss asked me to write this thing I shit a brick and explained I had practically no real programming experience. He told me to learn... and I did.
It was a truly ungainly, inelegant program (I came up with the most absurd variable names instead of names that actually described the variable), and I never fine-tuned it to make high-quality mirrors (funding cutbacks led to the department dismissing me), but I didn't think I could do it. But I did.
There's also graduation, marriage, etc. But nothing gives me that sense of accomplishment as writing that beast of a program. If I ever get around to writing a book (or a computer game) I may recapture that feeling.

Wait a minute. Unions represent Indians, not chiefs.
So, it was all about sacrifices, running on the treadmill (I bought one) 40 minutes a day OR walking through the city for one hour and half. Lard, get off!
there are couple of things I', proud of.
- Having 4,95+/5 average on both faculties of my studies last year
- some of my drawings I find really nice, no, not (only) frogs, I have a kind of ornamental drawings I've never shown here, because I'd have to scan them
- my paper on Liutprand of Cremona's attitude towards Byzantines
- my translation of Yahya al-Antaki (not yet finished, but I'm proud of it already)
- my civ2 scenarios (many faults, by much good artwork and innovative ideas)
Yet, my life sux. I'm not sure of my future, I've done some things I'm not proud of, I have no idea what I'm living for and I have no-one to love

My greatest accomplishment is currently a work in progress. It would be a huge victory for me and will pave the way for a even greater accomplishments in the future.

I can add meeting and marrying tuberksi saving me from a 4 year relationship i was in that was doomed. A partner being married to another person kind of ruins it . And of course had i known he was married i wouldnt have been in that relationship
