Hmm. Is it just me, or did the Chinese witness *a lot* of supernovas, if you include the unconfirmed ones? Twenty or so over a 2,000-year period. Strange, why we haven't seen any new ones since 1604 CE. You'd think a star somewhere in the visible part of the galaxy would be about ready to blow by now. After all, there's only billions of them out there.
