Roundabout dogs spreading like wildfire

Over the last few days 5 dogs made in various materials have appeared in roundabouts in Gothenburg. The police, media and ethnologists are baffled and noone knows where they come from or why they are here. Some speculate it´s some sort of guerilla art exhibit, some think it´s a protest against the National Road Administration. Sources say that the outbreak of roundabout dogs may emanate from the town of Linköping, where a local artist was commissioned to put up a dog sculpture in a roundabout near the local IKEA store. The sculpture was destroyed after a while and this might have prompted other artists to set up similar dogs in other roundabouts in Linköping. This then spread to Gothenburg.

The local paper compare the roundabout dogs to the Garden Gnome Liberation Front. Alas, details are at this point very sketchy, and there´s nothing to indicate that the two movements are related.
