The problem is what the "Russians" means. The Russian Federation is the native land for over a 150 nationalities, iirc.
In your language you have no distinction between an ethnic Russian and a citizen of Russia of any nationality. How would you call f.e. an ethnic Tartar who is the citizen of Russia and who doesn't have any other Motherland except Russia, 'cause the Tartarstan is located deep within Russia? Russo-Tartar? Tartar Russian? Such word-combination sounds silly in Russian and never used.
Different ethnic and religious groups often find certain things funny, but at the same time, those things can be very insulting for other people. You can't post cartoons, articles in papers or show movies in theaters, etc., that insult other people's faith or ethnicity.
And it's not about a sense of humor, but about respect and morality (replace it with "tolerance" if you wish).
Russia is not Denmark. If such things were allowed here it would resaulted in constant circles of violence and desintegration of the country in the long term.

p.s. I've not seen this movie only a short episodes of it, but imho such movie cannot have any commercial success in Russia, anyway. Any existing funny moments will be lost in translation.

sorry, when your job is to be a fact-checker and you fail to check facts than I put the blame on you. Was SBC an *******? Yeah, but James Randi has been known to be one from time to time too.

Look at the Nigerian '419' scammers, or the Church of Scientology. Their victims typically commit much more foolish mistakes than failing to do some homework. Actively giving large sums of money to a purported banker from another country when you have no legal recourse should he cheat you is breathtakingly stupid. So is joining a church that says psychiatrists are responsible for 9/11 and the Holocaust, and charges extravagant amounts of 'mandatory donations' for very simple services. But no matter how stupid the con is, you've got to have blinkers on to assign no blame at all to the artist.

I don't assign "no blame" to the con artist. I am assigning the vast majority, one would say 99%, on a woman who worked for a news organization and didn't take 10 minutes to call the Kazakh Embassy and do a check! (as you think that typing the guys name would be an ineffective starting point).

"Jackass for college grads" about sums it up. Or can you think of a particularly valuable service he rendered to society in disrupting a local newscast with his muggings? Aside from providing an outlet for his fans to sublimate their desire to laugh at the darkies under the guise of some high minded "social satire" BS?

I must have missed the laughing at the Darkies bit. I Believe it was wedged in between the racist Rodeo manager and the part where they found out the Bed and Breakfast was run by the Jews.

Movie theatres around the world have been sold out for several weeks now. Each one would have had several hundred people in splits. So that's many many thousand people, each deriving a little benefit thanks to SBC.
