Another Florida "Miracle" for Republicans

18 Republicans
4 Democrats
3 Unknown

Does this strike anyone else as funny in a state that was a swing state in 2000 and 2004, with the rest of the country going Democratic?

Did somebody forget to take thier paranoia medicine today. Even Jim Carville said the republican party is becoming the party of the south. Most of the seats were lostin a line of states from the east coast moving west thru indiana. Other that that the House didn't really change all that much. I'm from Michigan, Republicans didn't lose one seat even though it is a democratic state. Afterall, Negron almost won even though you had to check Foley on the ballot.

Florida isn't the south.

Actually many parts still are. They are shifting in demographics. But the fact is, most immigrants still do not vote. And many live in southeast florida anyways. The rest of florida is very conservative, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

If the Republicans were going to rig an election, wouldn't they have monkeyed with something closer or more important than the Foley seat? I think this election shows that the paranoia a lot of folks had was misplaced.

Foley was representing the 16th District which went Democratic. Obviously, the Republicans can't steal election's everywhere anymore, but apparently they still have the loyalty of the President's brother.

Maybe this is much ado about nothing, In the above, I only saw 2 disticts missing, there are 6, and it's because 6 Democrats ran unopposed, so it was 16-8-1, still quite skewed, though. The CNN exit polls tend to corroborate this.
