Yeah. Ever since I discovered the meaning of life, which I believe is subjective, I've started to be more happy all the time. Now that I reflect some things back, I can say I was unhappy earlier, like few years ago.
It's the pressure, I can say that societies that put a lot of pressure on the individual like Japan, as in you have to get into this place at age of 7 so you can get to this place at age of 10 so you can get ------ so you can get into good University so you are set.
I was lucky enough to never have that pressure from the outside, it came from inside though. You know, if you don't win, you'll end up losing, hating life. You'll never have nice things etc.
Now, I'm seeing that I'm getting where I want to be, and it wasn't impossible, it was in fact quite easy. It gives me great comfort, and that I'm interested in what I do. I don' tsee myself working, I see myself having fun, being playful in what I do. I'm not afraid of what the future brings, I can't wait! And enjoying the ride to that destination.
I guess what it comes down to is removal of not knowing what will happen and surrendering into I don't really care what's going to happen, I'll do my best in any situation and the end result will be satisfactory and liveable.
So.. I just can't think what could have happened if there was outside pressure. I mean, in academic world, you have the power and control to set your own time, to do what you want. That's great, I think we should never give that up. In time controlled world we live in, you owe your time to something or someone, but in academic world, you only owe to yourself so that's great. Time doesn't equal money. I don't have to be optimizing everything so I can get the maximum output on every given hour. I can do what I want, as long as I'm happy wiht my results.
This is the key, had I been in hurry, I would have missed so many opportunities, driving to the first goal. Now, opportunities have presented themselvges along the way and you can choose from those... I'm in IT security, which I greatly enjoy, it's like a dream. I don't have the usual suit approach, my approach is more like hacker mentality approach anyway so I have that passion and playfulness with me and I enjoy it very much. That, plus learning Chinese, had I rushed through, I would never have picked up Chinese. I'd prolly be driving to be some programmer in software developing company, OK job, but not for me.
Now, instead of that, I'm getting all these opportunities to do all these different things, it's great, I love it. Makes me happy. Doesn't feel like work.
And of course, I am superior, the world is wating to be dominated and if you're not with me, you shall perish and not be remembered.
