The biggest problem pagans have in Britain today is an obsession with persecution by christians. Read just about any of the magazines and newsletters produced by "pagan" authors and they are full of this.

If they actually concentrated more on their own beliefs rather than "OMFG!!! the nasty christians want to burn us all", they would be far better off.

(I've never run a shop but if I did and someone walked in and threw salt at me they'd be flying out the door with a broomstick up their arse pretty quickly)

No indeed; it should be memorialized by a talky, clunkily metaphorical movie which sins against logic too badly to be taken seriously by anyone with a brain. They left out the V for "verisimilitude." Bah!

SB: there are different kinds of Pagan, I suppose. It's a truism that everyone's religious opinions appear idiotic to those who don't share them, and I don't know what you mean by "pagan" specifically. Hopefully you're not living with the sort of person who worships Gods while simultaneously treating them like Aladdin's genie. But I reserve the right to laugh at anyone who buys colored candles in bulk because Cernnunos won't cough up the juju if we use the wrong color of candle in our magicK (you can tell it's the real kind if it's got a 'k' at the end!)--or who uses a "circle of protection" instead of a burglar alarm. If we ridicule Intelligent Design, certainly that's equally deserving of ridicule, at the very least.

Tho' of course I'm not about to break the 'Poly rule about insulting family members. Even if it weren't a rule, that's just tacky.

You know what the English should really be concerned about is whether or not the priests of these Catholics took the proper oath of fealty to the royal sovreign. If not then perhaps they're the ones Glastonbury needs to be cleansed of! (See poem in previous post.)
