Pine Bluff is the worst possible combination of Mississippi Delta poverty with inner-city slumminess. It has always been that bad with crime, and for a while led the country in car-theft rates, as a matter of fact my dad's car was stolen there and a friend's brother was shot in Pine Bluff. I've heard it called "Little Chicago," "The City That Welfare Built," and the "Armpit of America". I guess it's a positive thing that the infamy hasn't reached Nevadan ears yet.

Little Rock's homicide rate has been on target to match 1993. Out of nowhere, a flareup in gang and drug related crime has occurred, although the city is fairly safe other than gang violence. (Reminds me of the quote, "Outside of the murders, Washington DC is the safest place in the country." )

Hot Springs was a total surprise to me. Haven't heard anything about it. It may have something to do with the area defined for the data, maybe Hot Springs downtown or city limits has gotten worse, but most of the full area is sparkling clean.

Donegeal told me on the way to 'polycon, when we were in Gary, and saw a crack house and some whores and gang bangers, and McDonalds didn't let us in because "No F-ing way white folks be here to eat!!"

We are also the 4th angriest city in the U.S. Also our economy is down like 12%. Hmm...

That list dojn't seem right. Davie, FL, just down the road from me, was list #6 safest town in the U.S. by the F.B.I.

I live in the suburbs of Orlando, and it ranks #25 on the most dangerous list, but all in all it's a pretty safe place.

went to boot camp and school in Winter Park, Florida. I used to walk everywhere (I had no car). And took a bus downtown to see the concerts. Orlando had no crime that I could see.

Well, just like in baseball - we finished 2nd to St. Louis.

Actually, I am from Westland which is about 5-10 miles from the Detroit border. We were one of the safest cities the last time they took this survey. Our 2 neighboring cities rank very well. Then someone came from Detroit and murdered 4 people and shot 2 others at a Party Store 1/2 mile from my house. Other than that there really hasn't been any serious crime here but I suppose 2 counts of Armed Robbery, 4 murders and 2 attempted murders gives you a quick boost in the stats even if it was only one incident. Now we have fallen to the 130's because of that.
