Is it in violation, when the nazi's references are themselves parodies?

Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

This administration's most prominent totalitarian trait is its antagonistic attitude towards reality and all the limitations it imposes on their ideology. The contract-whoring is just ordinary corruption on an extraordinary scale.
This is certainly government corruption and not ideology. Ideology is when a people doesn't vote out corrupt failures because "still, they are against gay marriage" [insert any other argument].

Because you're either with us or against us. Duh. This just clarifies who "us" is.

Because the politicians who are getting bribed to give these massive corrupt contracts to the bribers don't want her to be.

The reaity is as long as these agencies aren't independent of partisan politics, and as long as politicians continue to take millions from corporations, then we will continue to see this type of massive fraud. The best thing that could ever happen would be to create a 100% independent contracting office and an independent auditing office which has zero political appointees in it and which does not report to any political appointee.

Halliburton has gotten away with murder after the Iraq war. The no-bid contracts, the incredible overcharging (far worse than other contractors in Iraq), and now the basic silencing of government critics of the favored treatment. The history books will not be kind. Perhaps this isn't Harding or Grant level corruption, but it isn't far behind either.

It would make no difference, because the contracting officers would be "taken care of" for doing the "right" things for the "right" people. A huge part of it is hidden in source selection methods - evaluating based on composite rates, while allowing much higher ceiling rates to be used post award, but the biggest part of it is inherent in CAS and all the games going into the determination of indirect costs.

You don't play ball with Lockheed Martin because a political appointee ever tells you to - they're not that stupid. You play ball with LM (or a zillion others), because you know that's what is wanted and rewarded.

Great article, minus the last paragraph. Whatever, I'm learning to take that in stride. What's a little hyberpole between friends?

This thread makes me sad. An honest person actually tried to do her job and reported corruption when it was clear as day. As a result the Bush administration has punished her for years.

Why do you want the democrats^W terrorists to win?
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?
