Seriously, most shortcuts are activated with two hands - there are only one Alt key, and that makes it quite difficult to do it with one hand.
My keyboard has 2 ALT keys, and I find that the vast majority of shortcuts are done with 1 hand (the other on the mouse).

I guess that you use an american keyboard - I think most european keyboards only have one ALT key. The second are used for Alt Gr.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

FF3 will have a pretty fundamentally new rendering engine, so it'll be tricky to debug. The graphics/imaging engine is also going to be fully hardware accelerated on Windows, OS X, and Linux, as well.
Good to hear. That should really kick some butt on Vista.

Asher, are you programming on the FF team, or are you just a tester?

I found a convenient solution to my Bookmarks Toolbar problem: just shorten the name of the link. Now everything fits. Are there any bookmark shortcuts that I should know about? Also, any quick Google and Wikipedia search features?

edit: One other shortcut that I use: Ctrl-[Mouse wheel], to zoom in and out.

I mainly test. Sometimes I encounter bugs that really bother me, and then I'll get my hands dirty. I try to stay out of the Gecko engine stuff though, it's really complicated/messy code...at least until Gecko 1.9 comes out, which is a lot cleaner.

The main ones I use all the time are CTRL-click to open links in new background tabs (this also works by middle-clicking on links), CTRL-F for the find window, / for quickfind (they are different), ' for quickfind links, F5 for refresh, CTRL-F5 for a refresh that forces a cache override...

As for "quick Google/Wikipedia" search features, I don't think Firefox comes with any by default. You create them yourself...in any search box on any site, right click on it and choose "Add keyword for this search", name the bookmark whatever, then in the keyword put the shortcut (eg, "g" for google). Then you can type in "g Asher" in the address bar and it'll google search for Asher.

If you guys are used to using Alt-S to quickly post after typing in forum boxes like this one, Firefox 2 "breaks" that because "S" is now the menu shortcut for history.

To make Alt-S submit forms again:
Open up a new Window/Tab and type “about:config” in the address bar.
In the Filter bar type: “ui.key.contentAccess” and press enter.
Double click the item and change the value from 5 to 4.

                  So I upgraded.

Most of my extensions work great.

The version is visibly much faster and easier on memory.

                  I don't like the new "nifty-like" theme.

I also disliked the close button moved from the far right to each tab, so I changed that back.

I love the spellcheck in reply boxes... that kicks ass .
