Own up folks. Who said 'Yes' to this one?
Clearly the answer is that it is not for me to decide what is best for the universe, only for myself. If other people choose to have eternal torture that is their problem.

I think it is pretty absurd that they rate answers to these questions as to whether humanity is progressing or moving to extinction. The concepts of progress and extinction are not opposites. After all, it took a whole lot of progress to get to the point where we could make ourselves extinct.

          "12.
What happens to people who do not share your worldview, after they die?"

pretty cultural-centric, eh what? What if you believe "kol israel" will have a place "ba olam habah" regardless of their world view?

Yeah, I'm moderately inclined towards Chopra, whoever the deuce he is. But TBH, I found myself choosing the "none of the above" options a lot of the time because the questions forced a choice between evangelical nuttiness and hardline secularism. I wound up biting the bullet and giving answers I knew would be read as "anti-science" though they weren't; I just have limited faith in utopianism of any kind. Including the one where they seemed to want me to claim "I hope humanity colonizes outer space." Um, I guess that would be nice, but given the massive barriers to that proposal isn't 'hope' too strong of a word?

The fact that all their examples except Chopra follow a pretty solid line from lower-left to upper-right really ought to be an indicator to them that there's something wrong with their approach to the question.

Actually, that's a good question. What kind of science is there besides natural science? Science used to be called "natural philosophy," with there being other types of philosophy, but I thought the term science, as commonly used, implied study of the natural world.

The quiz also assumes that science must include stem cell research and evolution.

Yes, but then those are the most controversial sciences. I've never encountered someone who said he didn't want any truck with, say, buoyancy. Which is odd, since its discovery apparently involved a man running naked through the streets dripping wet, and that's got to offend somebody's reading of the Bible.

                            8, 8

I'm somewhat surprised at the 8 on the religion/science scale given my views on religions.
