    This is actually neat in a really dumb science dork sort of way.

    One of our readers just sent in an interesting clip that shows you how to make plasma using a microwave, cork, and a match. What are your thoughts? Video after the jump. Plasma typically takes the form of neutral gas-like clouds or charged ion beams, but may also include dust and grains (called dusty plasmas).     Yeah, I remember this trick from a usenet post in the mid-90s. It was supposed to be a way of making ball lightning...sounded interesting, but I never tried it since they neglected the part with the glass globe.
