Oh yea, society has been going downhill lately and we've lost our sense of teamwork and community we had in the 80's. Too many movies nowadays feature some Rambo like character who goes into battle himself and blows up a lot of enemies.

I wonder where they got the idea for all these Rambo-like characters?

Oh I know! RAMBO. An 80's movie.

    Nice troll. Move along.

No I don't think they'd work today. Even if they re-made them.

First off, I'm 80s kid so I love Ghostbusters. Hey.. how can you wrong with Akroyd and Murray?

I like all movies with 80s feel to it, even American Psycho. Good book, average movie, however portrays the days I grew up as a kid so

I think the paradigm of that day was what it was. To me it seems like the 80s was innocent. Then again I didn't read the news then. So that was my truth.

The 80s western discourse was very different, so that's why I'd argue that the kids today, born in the 90s would be less into 80s teenage movies, even if the re-made them.

Yep, 80s movies have a lot of problems today, as the 80s were somehow different from today.

It might still be no problem with ghostbusters,
but you´ll encounter some real problems if you show someone who is 16 or 18 today some Rambo movies.
Yu first have to explain to him what´s the USSR and, if showing him Rambo III you have to tell him that, yes, there was a time when the combat in Afghanistan was against the sovjets and not against the taliban
