Yeah, all the blubber from those whales would help to keep Dear Leader's hair in its current style for at least 3 weeks...

Horses are solely for eating nowadays. For transportation we invented the automobile. For the military, tanks and helicopters have replaced them. Even our agriculture is productive without them, believe it or not.

And most importantly, we don't have mounties to ride them.

          Suck on this
Commercial whaling should be allowed for species which are not endangered. However, the Icelanders are hunting endangered species so this move is boneheaded.

Also most whale hunting in the Us is conducted by native groups. The problem is by treaty those native groups have a legal right to hunt and fish in their areas so it is extremely hard for the Federal government to order them to stop.

I can't really boycott Iceland. I don't recall to have bought anything from there, ever, boycott or not. Do they export anything of value?

Fish, books by Halldor Laxness and Gunnar Gunnarsson, skyr, the Icelandi sagas a bit of sheepmeat and butter. That´s about it I think. Watch out for these products and then your boycotting is working

The CIA says that 70% of Iceland's exports are fish and fish products with the remainder being mostly aluminum, animal products, ferrosilicon, diatomite.

Someone might have eaten a fish from Iceland at some point and not even know it was from Iceland.

I don't impose boycotts on myself unless I have a choice.

Let's see... I'm not much of a fish eater anyway. I prefer horse . Besides, I deem the robber economy of ordinary fishermen as just as disgusting as whaling. So I won't start to eat fish in masses, Icelandic, Norwegian or not.

Then I have, for the love of god (or Odin, if you prefer that), never heard of Halldor Laxness and Gunnar Gunnarsson. Forgive my ignorance, but I guess in that respect I'll die uneducated, barbarian that I am.

I personally love sheep meat, but my wife hates it, so I don't eat much of it either. And weighting over 100 kg, butter isn't an option either.

So it matters not if I impose a boycott on myself or not, I'll probably not be seeing much of the undoubtly excellent Icelandic exports.

One day the whales will unite and start harpooning Icelanders. Then it's too late!
