In the case of the Kona airport, it's not much. The entire airport is open-air, there are no jetways, no places save the gift shop and washrooms that require electric lights during the daytime and while there is an electric coveyor belt for the luggage, it's not really necessary. There's only a handful of flights a day anyway, and I'm sure they have a few generators for critical equipment. Actually, most landings are done manually to keep up practice and the automatics saved for bad conditions. Essentially, though, you are right.
In bad conditions, pilot are FORBIDDEN to land and the automatics do it.
Meaning unless something goes wrong with the system, the automatics are considered safer and better then real pilots

*sigh* My point was that a power failure on the ground generally shouldn't effect terribly a pilot's ability to land (manual or automatic).The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.
