Emphasis on "stepping in, in the 4th quarter".

I'll take Germany, as they seem to be genetically predisposed to excellent use of the machine and anti-tank gun.

I'll let Win SP:MBT be the judge on a 50x50 map, 2500 points, mech companies with attached armour platoons on each side plus a battery of mortars. No air. Will let you know the results. Scenario - AI France vs AI Germany meeting engagement.

It took place near Strassburg. Decisive German victory. Two platoons of Panzergrenadiers dashed top speed down the highway and luckily ran into HQ and mortars, which they slaughtered. French combined arms (Mech inf co in AMX-10 plus 8 Leclercs) thrust did well, advancing on the southern unpaved road until they strayed into enfilade fire by 5-7 Leo2A5 located on a hill and was busted. Return fire claimed 1 Leo.

If they handed points, I think France would win. In all out war and no nuking possibility, I say Germany wins. Why? I just don't see them losing. I don't see them winning either but in terms of losing, I think Germany is less capable of it. I think they will get it in the butt for the first quarter, but they'll start rolling soon as they get their ducks straight.

I think it comes down to leadership and strategy, and I think Germans would be able to throw in better strategy and better execution of it. I see France having superior weaponry, some good units there that can definitely do damage, but at the end I just see the generic fighting to be weaker in the low level tactics from the French side. It's not weak, it's just a guess.

In short, I think German mindset is more adaptable to total war and surviving in it.

On both occasions the Germans showed themselves very poor at coping with Total War or even deciding to go there. On the second occasion the French didn't last long enough to show their resolve but didn't lose even 5th of the men in the long run.

As long as the French don't come up with a mad rush into Belgium or Germany and soak up the German offensive whilst in France they'll win with flying colours.

How the hell are germans evil? Because of something they did 70 years ago? Without germany we wouldn't have jet turbines, watches, and alot of other stuff.
