Yeah this has been a hotly debated topic. Seems like it would be low on the priority list of things to worry over.

Just saying that even a state as conservative as Texas I wouldnt expect this kind of thing, not even in a small town.
Personaly I think its a shame that a few parents who were obviously too lazy to check what they signed (One should know that artsmuseums have some form of nudity) have basicly ruined a fine teachers life.
Whoever runs that school should be fired imo

I wonder why the school chose to fire the teacher, since it appears there was only one complaint, out of 89 pupils. I can see only three reasons:
1. The school board really really doesn't want to offense anybody. If even one person gets offensed for something trivial, that's one too many.
2. The kid's parents are important people
3. There was an old conflict between the school board and the teacher, but the teacher was too good to be fired. What really is sad is that other teachers won't dare to take their classes to museums any more and therefore a lot of kids will never be exposed to art.
I just realised I made an almost identical thread some time ago when another teacher got fired because he used a nude model in his drawing class. A drawing class at an art school that is.
Good thing I don't have kids. I would have to remove a lot of my books
