Just saw the first squirrel near my house. You see them quite often here in parks etc. but this is the first in my direct neighborhood

Last year a squirrel jumped out of a tree at my daughters school playground onto my little girls head and then jumped off her head when he realized where he was. She got a little scratch on her face as a result.
Being the supportive parents my wife and I are we laughed at her when we found out.
But seriously what a cluster. The school was all worried we were gonna sue. They asked for a description of the squirrel, I suppose in order to hang in the post office as one of the 10 most wanted. The overriding concerns of course was if the squirrel was rabid.
We quickly found out that
a) Rabies isn't transmitted via scratches (duh!)
b) Squirrels although they can contract rabies. There are no recorded records of squirrels transmitting the disease. Presuambly they die off too quickly."Just puttin on the foil" - Jeff Hanson
